Each year, the sixteen junior high schools in the SEISC Conference come together to give band students a unique performance experience. This event provides students the opportunity to learn new music, develop their skills, work with a guest conductor, and connect with peers from across the conference. It is truly a day centered on learning, music, and friendship.
This year, thirteen students were selected to participate in the festival: Addalie Daly, Emiline Robbins, Owen Jones, Carter Crozier, Isaac Edens, Cash DeRosear, Evon Merritt, Nick Madsen, Wyatt Workman, Makayla Lynch, Jarrett Hirschler, Alivia Griffin, and Kathryn Pollmeier.

Join us on Wednesday, May 6th for our annual FFA Banquet! Dinner will be served at 5:30 PM, with the program beginning at 6:30 PM.
The evening will include a comedian followed by our awards ceremony as we celebrate the accomplishments of our members. We hope you can join us for a great night of recognition and fun!

Last week, 26 of our students attended the State FFA Convention in Ames. While there, students competed in a variety of events including Ag Sales, Biotechnology, Poultry Judging, Farm Business Management, Chapter Test, and Greenhand Test.
In addition to competitions, four of our students performed in the State FFA Choir, two served as official delegates, and an outstanding 19 members earned their Iowa FFA Degree.
Throughout the convention, students had the opportunity to meet new people, develop leadership skills, and gain valuable experiences through their participation.
We are proud of how our students represented our chapter!

What an incredible evening! From the grand entrances to the final dance, our students truly shined. We are so proud of this group for making it a night full of class, laughter, and some pretty impressive moves on the dance floor. 💃🕺

On April 14, 2026, Central Lee Middle School choir members attended the Southeast Iowa Super Conference (SEISC) Honor Choir at Louisa-Muscatine High School. Students prepared and performed five selections representing a variety of musical genres under the direction of Fairfield High School choir director Zach Reiter.
Students had a valuable day of learning, collaborating with peers from across the conference, and experiencing new rehearsal techniques through both large ensemble rehearsals and sectional practices.

Jackson Bowen, a sophomore alto saxophonist at Central Lee High School, earned top honors at the Iowa High School Music Association Solo/Ensemble Contest. He received a Division I (Superior) rating with a perfect score and was named Outstanding Performer for his center. As a result, he has been selected to perform at the IHSMA Solo/Ensemble Showcase at Iowa State University on May 19.

The Month of the Military Child is a time to recognize something we see in our schools every day: the incredible strength of students from military families.

We loved seeing our entire PK- 8 student body come together, lining the hallways for a celebratory parade and creating posters through Leadership Neighborhood pair ups to cheer on their peers with excitement and pride.That is what it means to shine bright together!
