February 4
The 2024 CLHS Local Science Fair was a huge success. Thank you to the Lee County Conservation Center for hosting us, and to all the judges that gave their time to judge the projects. Congratulations to all the students who participated in the science fair!

CLHS Culver Stockton Science Fair Results

The CLHS Science Club had a great day at the Culver Stockton Science Fair. Congratulations to all the participants! Below is a list of the awards won by our students:

American Junior Academy of Science
February 14-18th in Denver, Colorado
Central Lee High School has had two students representing the school and the State of Iowa at the 2024 American Junior Academy of Science Conference, held in conjunction with the American Academy for the Advancement of Science Conference in Denver, Colorado.
Senior Sidney Gruntmeir is the daughter of Amy and Brian Gruntmeir, and Junior Alivia Cook is the daughter of Nathan and Amy Cook.
This week, these two young researchers have had the opportunity to tour research labs at the Air Force Academy, network with scientists from around the world, and present their science research. Sidney and Alivia have also now been inducted as fellows to the AmJAS. Congratulations!
Heartland Junior Science and Humanities Symposium
February 26 & 27
Central Lee High School had four student science researchers submit their research for the 2024 Heartland Regional Junior Science and Humanities Symposium on the campus of the University of Iowa. Student participants were Seniors Sidney Gruntmeir and Mercedes Kirchner, Junior Alivia Cook, and Freshman Allison Gruntmeir.
The students went on lab tours, attended keynote seminars, watched student seminar presentations, and presented their research in the poster session.

March 7 - Super-Conference Science Fair at SCC in West Burlington, Iowa
March 16 - Eastern Iowa Science Fair, Cedar Rapids, Iowa
April 4-5 - State Science and Engineering Fair of Iowa, Ames, Iowa
