At Central Lee Elementary, we encourage students to be leaders and share their unique genius with others. Recently, 4th grader Kristen Weber from Mr. Finney’s class approached me with a fantastic idea—she wanted to start a school newspaper! Her passion for writing inspired her to ask if she could contribute an article, and I wholeheartedly welcomed her initiative.
For this issue of Centrally Speaking, Kristen is kicking things off with her first article, highlighting the 100th Day of School. Thank you, Kristen, for your creativity and leadership in bringing this idea to life—and for sharing your talent with our school community!

The 100th day of school celebrates learning for 100 days. Elementary students dress up and celebrate being 100 days smarter. First graders dress up like they are 100 years old. They use canes, wear glasses, and even draw wrinkles on their faces. Kindergarteners decorate shirts with 100 fun and creative items. The kindergarteners and first graders parade through the halls for everyone to see and cheer. All the grades do special activities that involve the number 100. It feels good to celebrate being 100 days smarter!
