First Grade
We are Rounding up HAWKS who SOAR as Leaders! Our first graders are learning about the 7 Habits, which help them become leaders to themselves and with others.
We have implemented Daily 5 (Read to Self, Work on Writing, Listen to Reading, and Word Work). While students are doing these four independent tasks, teachers are meeting with individual or groups of students.
This is our fourth year of our math series, Ready Math. Students have been taught multiple strategies to become problem solvers and critical thinkers. Ready Math also has a technology component, which will help them practice their new skills. Every first grade classroom has enough iPads for each student to use.
We are excited to help our first graders reach their potential and become eager learners! We will use our brains to problem solve, use our hearts to be good HAWKS, and have the courage to get through this together. Thanks for all your support at home!
