Central Lee Middle School
As we approach the last quarter of classes, we must ensure our students remain focused and accountable regarding their responsibilities at school. We appreciate everyone’s efforts to help our students be successful and feel supported this year.
You should have received a link to a SMORE newsletter that outlines our parent-teacher conference format and information. Conferences are Tuesday, March 8, and Thursday, March 10, from 4 to 8 p.m. each evening.
Quality work completion and class participation are critical toward ensuring students are practicing skills and learning content. Daily grades and practice are not figured into the grade, but they may show up in PowerSchool to help students monitor their progress. Evidence of Learning activities are graded. These are the artifacts that reflect a student’s mastery of the learning targets.
The Iowa Statewide Assessment of Student Progress (ISASP) tests will be administered the week of April 11. Students will take the tests online this year, except for the Writing Portion. The ISASP provides an important gauge of student learning and progress, as it helps us ensure students are meeting the standards and learning targets of the state and our district.
During this week, we ask that students get a good night’s sleep, eat a healthy breakfast, and be at school! Attendance is very important. The testing environment is just not the same when students must make them up later. You will receive more information on the testing schedule closer to the week of April 11.
Spring Fling will be Friday, May 13, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the K-8 Building! This is always a much-anticipated activity for seventh and eighth graders.
Let’s finish the year strong! As always, please feel free to contact staff or Mrs. Ensminger if you have questions or concerns.
