This week, the Iowa Pupil Transportation Association (IPTA) presented Central Lee Transportation Director Kim Ensminger with the Tom Horn Memorial Award.
“It is an absolute honor to receive this award,” said Kim Ensminger. “The Tom Horn Memorial Award represents the values I try to adhere to in my everyday work. I am flattered that others have noticed the ways in which I attempt to contribute to Central Lee and the community.”
The annual award goes to one Iowa Pupil Transportation Association member who is a school transportation administrator, director, or supervisor. The recipient must demonstrate model leadership skills and service within the program, school district, and community.
“We would like to congratulate Ms. Ensminger on this award, which embodies everything she brings to our Transportation Department,” said Dr. Andy Crozier, Superintendent of the Central Lee Community School District. “Dedicated and selfless individuals like Ms. Ensminger are the backbone of Central Lee and deserve to be recognized for their contributions. We are thrilled that she has been honored at the state level for her outstanding work and service to our students, families, and community.”
Ms. Ensminger was officially honored with the Tom Horn Memorial Award plaque during the IPTA’s Annual School Transportation Conference. In addition, her name will be added to the official Tom Horn Memorial plaque, displayed at the IPTA office in Des Moines.
