ISASP Results

Dear Families,

Individual student reports for the Spring 2022 Iowa Statewide Assessment of Student Progress (ISASP) have been distributed to all elementary, middle, and high school students. Students in grades 3-11 were tested in reading, math, and language/writing. Students in grades 5, 8, and 11 were also assessed in science. The ISASP intends to provide information to schools and families about how students are performing on the Iowa Core Academic Standards. The assessment’s results is one of several indicators we use to measure student academic success at Central Lee.

As a district, we have heightened our commitment to using a variety of tools, strategies, and assessments to help us identify and address learning gaps resulting from the COVID-19 school closures and other pandemic-related challenges we have faced.

In addition to the Spring ISASP, we measure math and literacy growth and success using the iReady math and reading program for K-8 students. At our high school, students take the Measurement of Academic Progress (MAP) test. These assessments have been completed for the beginning of the 2022 school year.

As a team, our teachers, students, and administrators collaboratively examine assessment results and use their outcomes to help set building and student goals. This growth mindset is an important part of our culture at Central Lee. We are dedicated to setting high expectations for student progress and achievement throughout the entire year.

As you review your student’s ISASP report, please take some time to discuss the results with your student. We encourage families to ask questions and get feedback from your student(s) about their strengths and areas for growth on all of their assessments. The following guide explains how to analyze the individual student report: ISASP Guide for Parents.pdf

At parent-teacher conferences this fall, teachers will be reviewing all assessments used to measure student growth and achievement with families. As always, we appreciate your support and partnership in making this growth mindset a priority. We aim to support your students’ academic achievement in any way we can. Please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or concerns.

Sincerely,

Angie Fransk

Director of Curriculum and Instruction
