In the 2022-23 school year, the high school math department has adopted the Illustrative Mathematics curriculum for Algebra 1, Geometry, and Algebra 2. This curriculum has enabled our district to align the mathematics curriculum throughout the 7-12 grade levels. Another initiative at the high school this year is incorporating interventions and extensions of the mathematics standards during SOAR time. We are seeing great student growth thus far and are excited to see what the rest of the year holds for our math students!
Algebra 1 is currently wrapping up Unit 3 on Two-Variable Statistics. Afterwards, they will begin Unit 4 on Functions.
Geometry recently finished Unit 3 on Similar Figures and will soon begin Right Triangle Trigonometry.
Algebra 2 is progressing through Unit 3 on Complex and Rational Exponents. All curriculum materials can be accessed from home at https://im.kendallhunt.com/.
Pre-Calculus students are expanding on and applying their Trigonometry concepts from Algebra 2 with their units on Trigonometric Functions and Analytic Trigonometry.
Calculus students are finishing their unit on using derivatives to calculate the maximum or minimums for real-life situations before beginning their unit on integration.
AP Statistics students are in the process of studying Unit 6 on Random Variables.
Pre-Algebra students are currently learning Financial Mathematics in Unit 3.
