On Wednesday, May 8, two 8th grade teams represented Central Lee Middle School at the Regional Battle of the Books competition hosted by the Great Prairie AEA. It was held at the Fairfield Arts and Convention Center in Fairfield, Iowa. Our teams competed against about 15 other teams in school districts and placed 3rd overall.
Both teams have worked hard the past couple of months reading 16 books from a list the GPAEA put together. They have really enjoyed the experience and we are grateful for the opportunity the GPAEA has provided for our students!
The winning team consisted of Quinn Gates, Macy Anderson, Chloee Haigh, Aubree Perkins, Ava Derr, and Hope Juarez.
The other team that competed consisted of Afton Maynes, Eliza Wagner, Evelyn Adkins, Rachel Buch, and Avery Hopp.
