The 2nd & 3rd Graders, along with 5th Grade Band, held their Holiday Concert last evening. The gym was completely full of happy These kiddos showed their hard work so far this school year. What amazing progress in such a short amount of time for those instrumentalists. The 2nd and 3rd Graders performed North Pole Star Musical. WOW- these kiddos were there to entertain the audience. Stars were born as students sang solos and played special parts in the play. Thank you to Heather Madsen, Ethan Stewart, and Tracy Madsen for directing the students to success. We also extend gratitude to the custodial staff for all they do during concert season to make the environment clean and safe for students and guests.

Kindergarten and First Grade students performed festive songs to fill the CLHS gym with the holiday spirit through their music program, directed by Heather Madsen. Students were dressed up, danced in a jolly way, and joined their voices as one to showcase what they've been learning in music class this fall. Several students sang solos or told jokes, too. We appreciate the thunderous applause from the parent and grandparent paparazzi!

Learning how to be a leader is a very important part of instruction for students at Central Lee! Along with our implementation of Leader in Me, teachers will be honoring students who are showcasing high level use of the 7 Habits of Happy Kids. One student was selected from each classroom K-5 as HAWK Student of the Month this October and November. These students are celebrated for their use of Habit 1: Be Proactive and Habit 2: Begin with the End in Mind. We are very proud of the positive culture this leadership focus brings to our school. Way to go, kids! #Proud2bCL

Central Lee FFA participates in Wreath’s Across America!! Wreath’s Across America is a wonderful non-profit organization that was established in 2007 by a wreath producer named Morrill Worcester. Its purpose is to teach the next generation the value of freedom, and to honor those who have served by laying wreaths on the gravesites of the many men and women who have served this country. The Central Lee FFA Chapter is part of the thousands nationwide that help keep this precious tradition going by volunteering each year during the holiday season. They certainly showed their gratitude by placing 1,900 wreaths this year in remembrance of our fallen heroes at the National Cemetery in Keokuk, Iowa! Central Lee students are exposed to the skilled trades through many experiences during their education journey at Central Lee. It may be during a Career and Technical Education class, in their Career SOAR time each week, or various experiences offered K-12. Recently, High School students were able to attend the Skilled Trades Expo put on by the Iowa National Guard. There were dozens of experts representing the many skilled trades opportunities in our area. Students were able to learn about apprenticeships, careers, and their next steps into a great career. #CTEworkforCL
