Central Lee Seniors experienced a taste of the real world through mock interviews. Every senior sat down with a local professional for an interview. The mock interviews created a great opportunity for the students to interact with a professional, share their resumé, and gain valuable feedback from local businesses on their interview techniques. It was another step to better prepare students to be career and college ready. Thank you to our participating professional from Conagra, Chem Gro, Central Lee CSD, Pilot Grove Savings Bank, Great River Health, Lee County Economic Development, Iowa National Guard, and Carl A. Nelson. #CTEworksforCL #Proud2bCL

Friendly Reminder: The Iowa Statewide Assessment of Student Progress (ISASP) testing for students in grades 3-11 will take place this month. See the schedule for each building below: HIGH SCHOOL: Monday, April 8 through Friday, April 12 MIDDLE SCHOOL: Monday, April 22 through Friday, April 26 ELEMENTARY: Monday, April 22 through Friday, April 26 Students will be assessed in reading, math, and language/writing. Students in grades 5,8 and 11 will also be tested in Science. Testing will be in person and take place in the mornings. The purpose of the ISASP is to allow students to demonstrate what they have learned and how they are progressing. The data it provides represents one way we measure student success. As a district, we will closely examine the results as we make key decisions and ensure we are setting high expectations for student progress and achievement. Below are some tips to help ensure your student is prepared: ✅ Make sure your student gets enough sleep the night before each test. ✅ Make sure your student has a healthy breakfast or arrives to school on time for our breakfast. School breakfast will be provided at the regular cost. ✅ Remind your student of the importance of taking the test seriously. ✅ Encourage your student to do their best and have a positive attitude. ✅ Explain that even though questions will be difficult and they may not know all the answers, it is important for students not to leave an answer blank. ✅ Being on time and in attendance is important for all testing. Thank you for your partnership and encouraging students to put forth a strong effort on these assessments!

Central Lee Elementary students were educated by LEECOMM employees, Nicole Fraise, Schuyler Westermeyer, and Payton Jarvis before spring break. Mascot, LEECOMM Larry, made an appearance. Students, teachers, associates, Principal Fuger, and School Resource Officer Haney, were excited to give Larry high-fives and hugs! Scenarios were shared where it is appropriate to utilize 9-1-1. Students were reminded that if they call 9-1-1 by accident they need to stay on the line to answer all questions of the dispatcher before hanging up. It was highlighted that, most-importantly, students should remain calm, know where they are, and speak clearly to dispatchers.
