The Central Lee Agricultural Education/FFA participated in National Agriculture week recently by driving agricultural equipment to school. On March 16th, Central Lee Middle School had 37 projects with 47 students competing at the Eastern Iowa Science and Engineering Fair in Cedar Rapids, IA. Students competed against different schools in the Eastern part of the state, and were judged by multiple judges for class placings along with many special awards judges for other awards and prizes!
Drake Newton received Junior Champion in Biological Division and Caedon Newton received Junior Champion in Physical Division. That earned them both a trip to Las Angeles, California as observers for the International Science and Engineering Fair in May!

Welding-- Students enrolled in coursework in the Central Lee Agricultural Education/FFA program learn a multitude of work-place ready skills. The National FFA is a dynamic youth organization that changes lives and prepares members for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education.
FFA develops members’ potential and helps them discover their talent through hands-on experiences, which give members the tools to achieve real-world success.
Members are future farmers, chemists, veterinarians, government officials, entrepreneurs, bankers, international business leaders, teachers and premier professionals in many career fields.
FFA is an intracurricular student organization for those interested in agriculture and leadership. It is one of the three components of agricultural education.
The official name of the organization is the National FFA Organization. The letters “FFA” stand for Future Farmers of America. These letters are a part of our history and our heritage that will never change. The Central Lee FFA, being one of the largest chapters in the state of Iowa, with 152 members, prides itself in the hard work of our students and the support from our community. We strive to give back to our students through team-building activities and experiences that benefit their ongoing lives and careers. As our chapter grows, we strive to provide our students with every opportunity possible to ensure a bright future ahead!
