On Tuesday, November 19th, students from Central Lee's Business Law class were hosted at the Keokuk Courthouse. We were able to hear about a variety of jobs in the legal system, legal processes, interesting backstories from the professionals we met, and we were given a personal tour of the facility. Check out the level of engagement in our high school chemistry class! This past summer, the district renovated our high school science classrooms to include a classroom space and a separate lab space. The classrooms include state-of-the-art lab equipment, working utilities, and high-end technology.
If you haven't seen the rooms, we will host an open house during a high school basketball game this winter. Be on the lookout for this event date soon!

Jacob Vollmer’s apprenticeship, through our Work-Based Learning Program, at J.J. Nichting Company has helped launch him forward to his future career. His hands on learning of the skills, knowledge, and experience it takes to be successful as a diesel tech has given him a leg up in life. Jacob is looking forward to continuing this career path because he says, “There hasn’t been a day I haven’t liked working there.” #CTEworksforCL #Proud2bCL

For our second quarter service learning project, Middle School students are learning about food insecurity and our local food banks. We will be having a canned food (or other non-perishable food items) drive to collect for local food banks in the area. Anyone and everyone is welcome to donate to this drive. You may drop donations at the K-8 office :)

Welding students at Central Lee High School take part in a demonstration on TIG welding. Kenny Hamilton(seated), explains the theory of TIG welding and career opportunities in the industry. The group took part in “hands on” learning and became excited about the many opportunities in the welding industry. The Advanced Agricultural Welding class is part of the Agricultural Education curriculum at Central Lee. Kennedy Wellman is enjoying and succeeding in her internship at Lee County Veterinary Care. This opportunity has opened her tool box of soft skills. Kennedy says it best, “This job has really helped my confidence in communication and working with other people.
