The Central Lee Ag-Ed/FFA conducted their annual service/labor auction recently. A complimentary soup supper was sponsored by The Lee County Farm Bureau for a large crowd of supporters. All are active members of the Central Lee Agricultural Education Department and FFA. The Central Lee FFA auction was a huge success raising funds for student and community activities. The National FFA Convention & Expo is all about growing the next generation of leaders. No matter where you are in FFA, you’ll find inspiration and direction to become a leader and influencer, ready to make an impact. During the event, students find out who they are, who they want to become and how they can change how the world grows. This past month 27 Central Lee FFA members attended the convention in Indianapolis, Indiana. Students were involved in convention sessions, leadership workshops, team building activities, tours, a career show and inspirational speakers. The 96th National FFA Convention & Expo is approved for listing by the National Association of Secondary School Principals. We celebrate students selected by their teachers as HAWKS of the Month for October. These students exhibited regular use of Habit 1: Be Proactive. They were responsible for their actions, words, and work. They took initiative and were accountable for their actions. Teaching students how to grow as leaders is an integral component of the K-12 curriculum. It is embedded in all classrooms and embraced by staff and students.
Mrs. Kaisie Peterson's 4th Grade Class spends time becoming better readers in many different ways. You'll find students working independently on reading books at their good fit level. Students stretch their learning while completing i-Ready personalized lessons. Mrs. Peterson works with small groups teaching specific skills those students need. She also helps students strengthen their word knowledge by creating activities in wordwall.net. Even science and social studies topics are taught through experiences with articles and non-fiction text. We appreciate the intentional planning she and her 4th grade colleagues do each week to support student learning! #Proud2bCL
