It’s National School Counseling Week!
This week, we would like to thank our Central Lee counselors for their unique contribution within our school systems and highlight the tremendous impact school counselors can have in helping students achieve school success and plan for a career.
Our school counselors are actively engaged in helping students examine their abilities, strengths, interests and talents; work in a partnership with families as they encounter the challenges of raising children in today’s world; focus on positive ways to enhance students’ academic, career and social/emotional development; and work with teachers and other educators to provide an educational system where students can realize their potential and set healthy, realistic and optimistic aspirations for themselves.
Thank you, school counselors! #Proud2bCL
Congrats to our Boys Basketball team for picking up a big win at the conference shootout!
Today, Friday, February 4th, Central Lee High School took some time out to celebrate all of the great things happening during this winter season at Central Lee High School. Basketball, bowling, wrestling, cheer leading, and dance teams were congratulated, as well as students who earned 1st semester honor roll status. There was even time for some whole school line dancing and a three-point shot contest between two coed varsity basketball groups. Pep band and cheer leaders brought the energy to the gym and Alex S. ended the assembly with a half court basket winning donuts and chocolate milk for the whole high school on Valentine's Day. What an amazing group of young people! #Proud2bCL

The 7th grade Social Studies classes had the opportunity to listen to a guest speaker over zoom after the US Government Unit. The speaker is a Captain in the Marines who will be assigned to the embassy in Seoul, South Korea. They will be responsible for security of the embassy, advising the ambassador, and traveling to other countries to deal with foreign relations. The speaker discussed careers in the military, responsibilities of the embassy and the State Department, and different traits and skills that make a great Leader. The speaker was excellent, and the students were able to connect unit content to the real world and district goals. Thank you, Captain! (For security purposes, the name or identity of the Captain cannot be shared.)
Central Lee CSD will be on a two hour delay for Thursday, January 20, 2022 due to winter wind chill temperatures.
We’re hosting our annual Kindergarten Roundup on Tuesday, February 22! The event starts at 6 p.m. and will take place in the Multi-Purpose Room of our K-8 Building.
Kindergarten Roundup gives you a chance to meet school staff, including our teachers, transportation director, secretaries, school nurse, and guidance counselor. You can also learn more about school readiness skills for your children, open enrollment, and other important information.
Additionally, the necessary paperwork to register your student(s) will be available. You can fill it out at the event or take it home to start the registration process.
While all prospective kindergartners—including those currently in our Little Hawks Preschool—are invited and encouraged to attend, they are not required to be there. The event will take about one hour.
We hope to see you on February 22!
Congratulations to our students in Athletic Conditioning who were able to join the 500 pound or 1000 pound club for lifting! Thanks to Pilot Grove Savings Bank for providing the t-shirts and their continuous support for our school!
