Maddie Wellman, President of the Central Lee FFA planted the Central Lee Agricultural Education and FFA land lab recently.
The students receive “real world” experiences through managing all aspects of the school farm. Several students were on hand to learn about modern technology utilized in row crop operations. #CTEworksforCL

Please join us in celebrating School Board Recognition Month! Thank you to Central Lee Community School Board members Kim Hasek, Bill Young, Mark Hulsebus, Brock Westfall and Tony Sciumbato.
As elected officials, the Board of Education serves as a link between the Central Lee community and the classrooms. They are responsible for approximately 1,100 students and 150 staff members and serve Argyle, Donnellson and Montrose.
These elected members create school policy, approve curricula, develop innovative opportunities, and maintain school facilities. Board members must enhance their understanding of state and federal education law; the complexities of school finance, including budgets and taxes; and the importance of maintaining a positive district culture. They spend many hours in board training programs and personal study, while also advocating for public schools with their local legislators.
And this year, they have navigated our district through a global pandemic, making difficult and unprecedented decisions that affect the health and safety of our students and staff.
Please join us as we celebrate the outstanding leadership of the Central Lee School Board and thank them for their continued service during @IASB_Iowa School Board Recognition Month! #Proud2bCL #CelebrateIASchoolBoards

In the event of inclement weather, the Graduation Ceremony will take place in the Central Lee High School gymnasium. This shift in location will be announced on the District’s Facebook page (@CentralLeeCSD). Indoor seating would be limited to five spectators per graduate.

Do you know of a former student or staff member who excelled in academics, athletics or fine arts while at Central Lee? Nominate that person for one of our Halls of Fame!
This year, we will honor nine individuals—three for our Academic Hall of Fame, three for our Athletics Hall of Fame and three for our Fine Arts Hall of Fame.
Committees have been established to help with the selection of inductees. For someone to qualify for a nomination, they must have graduated from Central Lee or have been a staff member. They also must be at least five years removed from the district. The committee will continue to consider individuals nominated in years’ past as potential inductees for 2021 and future years.
Nominations are due by Friday, May 14. To submit a nomination, visit https://bit.ly/CLHOFNomination. #Proud2bCL

We wanted to take a moment to remind our students and families that the Iowa Statewide Assessment of Student Progress (ISASP) will take place Monday, April 12 through Friday, April 16. All students in grades 3-11 will take tests in reading, math and language and writing. Students in grades 5, 8 and 10 will also take the science test. Testing will be in person and take place in the mornings.
The purpose of the ISASP is to allow students to demonstrate what they have learned and how they are progressing. The data it provides represents one way we measure student success. As a district, we will closely examine the results as we make key decisions and ensure we are setting high expectations for student progress and achievement.
A free healthy breakfast will be served each day starting at 8:00 a.m., prior to the start of testing for the day. Below are some tips to help ensure your student is prepared:
*Make sure your student gets enough sleep the night before.
*Make sure your student has a good breakfast or arrives to school on time for our free breakfast.
*Remind your student of the importance of taking the test seriously.
*Encourage your student to do their best and have a positive attitude.
*Explain that even though questions will be difficult and they may not know all the answers, it is important for students not to leave an answer blank.
*Being on time and in attendance is important for all testing.
Building specific information will be shared later this week. Thank you for your partnership and encouraging your student to put forth a strong effort on these assessments!
Welcome back to our Central Lee Family! #Proud2bCL
